Canella Hostal
For this Spring Summer 2018, Daphne was in charge of creating accessories to go with Canella' new collection.
Since the collection got its main inspiration from the sixties, Daphne chose to focus her researches on turban which was the ultimate accessory at that time.
She designed, sampled and developed a serie of adjustable turbans with beading handwork as a reference to the acrylic furniture popularity in the 60s. She also wanted to give this piece a modern twist, so she mixed it with a cap which is one of the most common street head accessory as if two eras were crossing.
This ‘turban-cap’ had a double wear purpose; it could be worn tied up on top of the head or tied around the neck and then be used as a protection against the sun or as a cover for hair.
Aside from this, Daphne also worked on developing the patterns and size grading for the new collection while sampling and production was handled by Canella' tailors and seamstress team.
